Lula Washington Dance Company MLK Performance

The Lulu Dance Company continues this month’s celebration of African-American history by bringing this free dance performance to New York City. The global company seeks to examine aspects of African-American history and current issues. Come and enjoy the powerful and high-energy performances, while learning history!

Professor Jessica Simes on "Place and Punishment in an Era of Mass Incarceration”

An assistant professor of sociology at Boston University, Professor Simes will explore the historical trajectory of mass incarceration as it correlates to racial segregation, poverty, crime and patterns of social control. The Vera Institute of Justice’s event is highly anticipated so all seats are booked, but everyone is welcome to watch the livestream of this unique talk.

Runway Model Master Class

Karen " KayLove" Pedrosa and Nelson Host Santiago will teach you how to draw and ink graffiti lettering as well as create your own name in "Graff" style. No prior experience is necessary, just a spirit to live a rad lifestyle!
