Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Returns for its 95th Anniversary

Macy’s hosted its 95th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, Nov. 25. People from all over the country came to see the parade in person, an experience not possible a year ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Spectators gathered at 5 a.m. and stood in 40 degree weather for four hours to make sure they had a good spot before the ceremony began.

By 9 a.m, groups huddled around and marveled at the festival floats that flew by, waved at the people participating in the parade and cheered when parade volunteers threw confetti into the crowd. Kids wore festive headbands and turkey-shaped hats.

The three-hour event was aired live on NBC and hosted by Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Hoda Kotb. A few notable musicians who sang in the parade were Jimmie Allen, Kelly Rowland and Andy Grammer.
