The Other Side of the Minority Experience at King’s

(OPINION) The King’s College can always do a better job addressing, acknowledging and celebrating events such as Hispanic Heritage Month. However, many students, staff and faculty happily and eagerly embody those values. There are evidently two sides to minority experiences at King’s. This does not mean the adverse is not true—that negative experiences between students, staff and faculty are nonexistent. It does, however, mean that many minority students do find acceptance in the present community.

Archtober Hosts a Tour Through the Wonders of Grand Central Terminal

Untapped New York, an organization dedicated to uncovering New York City’s structural gems, regularly hosts a walking tour through Grand Central Terminal called The Secrets of Grand Central tour. For a small fee, tour goers spend an hour and a half exploring Grand Central while gaining insider facts about the Terminal unknown to most people.

Nelson Mandela: The African Teacher

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, known to many native South Africans as ‘Madiba,’ or ‘father,’ exudes the principles of reconciliation that were emphasized during the 2020-2021 school year. Mandela’s lifestyle is a testimony and a lesson to the world on a country-wide scale, yet this much-needed picture and example of racial reconciliation is unknown to many 21st century Americans.
